Mounting Fittings


The fittings shown below are optional and must be ordered if required. The exact active length of the tube must be exposed to the temperature change. If the bushing or union in the standard "C" or "D" position specified on each page will not permit this, order with a longer or shorter "C" or "D" dimension. (The flange is fastened to the tube with a set screw.)
Standard Series (3/8" dia.)

Heavy Duty Series (3/4" or .840" dia.)
Non-Standard Tubes

Standard Series - Up to 18" overall tube length can be provided on special order, call (973) 635-9481 for details.
Heavy Duty Series - Tubes up to 72" can be supplied on special order, call for details.
Tube Construction

In most controls, the outer sensing tube contains an inner rod which is made in two sections. The section nearer the head of the instrument is "inactive". Only the furthest end is "active" and affected by changes in temperatures.
It is, therefore, essential for proper temperature control, that the full length of the "active" section be exposed to the changing temperature. The inactive portion acts as an insulator between the active portion and the
instrument head and gives the needed length to pass through insulated walls. For those controls which have maximum tube temperature of 600°F, the active
inner rods are made from a nickel alloy. Most other tube assemblies use "active" inner rods made from ceramic.
